Ketye gained experience in various mediums, like painting, sculpting and pottery throughout his life. He founded the Marianhill Art Center which is a gallery and studio space and then went on to open a screen printing factory in Makhado.
He portrays the characteristic African postures of grief – head buried between elbows, hands clasped at the back of necks. Apart from the subject matter, Kenye's sense of composition reveals his developing creativity as an artist, he chooses unusual angles of vision.
His work has been exhibited in several galleries in South Africa, USA and UK
