Ntukwana, Hargreaves

Born in 1939, Johannesburg. Studied under Cecil Skotnes in South Africa, Cordelidos in Toledo Spain and under Professor Mel Edwards in New York. A man of many talents: lectured on South African art in New York and Switzerland; designed clothes for “Black and White is Beautiful” modelling show in Germany; photographer, jazz musician who participated in the musical “King Kong” and designed record sleeves for “Underground in Africa” by Dollar Brand in 1980. Painter and sculptor of township life and figures. Works in oil, gouache, ink, wash, pencil, charcoal, wood, plaster of Paris, clay and terracotta. His work has been exhibited in SA, Europe, USA, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, France, Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands.
